Paul knew the unmatched benefits that group life provides. In Romans 1:12, Paul says, “When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.” Throughout his ministry of spreading the Gospel, not only had Paul inspired faith in others, by he had been inspired by theirs as well. This is the heart of community. We support and encourage one another in our faith and travel together down the road of our spiritual journey through life.
There are also many other benefits of devoting ourselves to community. We learn so much about God by diving into the Bible with one another. Each person has a unique perspective to bring to the table, and there’s so much insight to hear through discussion that you’d never have on your own. There’s also the love and support that you receive through your brothers and sisters in the faith. They will be by your side and help you walk through the toughest moments of your life.
That’s why we have such a strong focus on Neighborhood Groups and events like Backyard Church. We want to focus our hearts and actions on living out lives in community. We pray that you’ll join us in engaging in and cherishing these opportunities to encourage one another in the Lord and simply enjoy time together as brothers and sisters in Christ.
