Please know that you never have to face these burdens alone. God created us for relationship, and He always intended that we be there for one another in the darkest of times. God has given some the gift of being wise counselors. The benefits of seeking help from such people are invaluable. There is no need to hold on to pride: it is a humble heart that finds restoration and healing.
Romans 12:5 reads, “We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other” (NLT). That is a powerful statement, showing how important our unity is to God. As members of the same body, we are there to lift each other up when we falter. There is no shame in asking for help. Together, as brothers and sisters in Christ, we are stronger. We can only do so much on our own power, but we can accomplish anything as the body of Christ.
Be honest with yourself when you are struggling. Don’t attempt to hide behind pride and self-reliance. Pride is a barricade to healing and growth, but the section you let your walls down, you will find the restoration you so desperately need. Remember that God works through others, so through a wise counselor, you can encounter the healing power of Christ.
