The Resurrection and The Promise of New Life in Christ

March 8, 2021

The resurrection is the foundation of our faith. Jesus paid the penalty for our sins on the cross, but He broke the power of sin and death in the world through the resurrection. That’s why Paul says that Jesus is the first of “all who rise from the dead” (NLT). Not only does He now have eternal life, but He shares that incredible power with everyone who professes belief in His name.

This is the profound and life-changing hope to which we profess during Easter. Christ has risen from the dead, giving us new life. We have a fresh slate through Him, and we can live life anew. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (NLT). As believers, we experience unsuppressed freedom to live our lives unshackled to the things that once held us back.

Spring is coming, and with it, the chance to embody the spirit of the season and embrace a new life with Christ. If you have been struggling with anxiety or depression, take hold of the freedom Christ gives so freely and seek the appropriate steps to find assistance. God desires for you to experience unending peace, joy, and love in your life. All is possible through Jesus, so never doubt that these things can be a reality in your life.

God wants to bring us to a place of holistic healing. Our spiritual lives are better aligned when our bodies, hearts, and minds are in a place of health. Through the Holy Spirit within you, Jesus wants to guide you to a place of renewal in every aspect of your life. The Easter season we are experiencing together as a church is deeply symbolic of this renewal offered by Christ. As we walk through this season together, commit to taking hold of your new life in Christ, no matter what steps you need to take.
