Elevate is the Family Ministry of Ben Davis Christian Church and is broken down into separate groups by grade level. Elevate 912 is for high school students (from grade 9 through grade 12). We desire that any student who takes part in our weekly events has fun and leaves encouraged and challenged. Our vision is that, through teaching, discipleship, worship, and service, our teens will elevate Jesus in their lives.
On the first Wednesday of each month we gather in the Loft (upstairs room in the Activity Center) at 6:30 p.m. for a time of large community, worship, and teaching specifically for the students. This time will be a “Launchpad” for students as they tackle the month ahead of them. We want this night to encourage and uplift, while also challenging the students to grow spiritually. We also want this night to be inviting to others, creating an environment that is fun and exciting, while also promoting curiosity about Jesus. Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
The Activity Center
Each week (other than 1st Wednesday), students will meet with their missional communities or mish’ for short. Mish’ is a small group of students, joining together around a common service and witness to a particular school, neighborhood, or network of relationships. In these missional communities, the students will meet to have Bible Studies (usually based on the lesson from First Wednesday), pray for their community and each other, accountability, share meals, go on activities together and serve. This is where relationships are key, and discipleship and evangelism is the goal. Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
SERVE 1 ATTEND 1
For Elevate 912, there is a casual connection group at 9:30 a.m. in the Gathering Room. However, we desire for our students to worship and serve with the adults. This is called inter-generational worship. We want our students integrated into the life of the Church, which we believe will prepare the students for life after high school.
